Friday's Ross County Grand Jury

The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 18 of their cases Friday, September 25th, with three open.

In one, on September 29th, 2019, 38-year-old Phillip A Dixon of Chillicothe was found unresponsive in his vehicle at his home at 564 East Main and taken to the hospital. According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, found in his car was a pipe, cocaine, and a large amount of crystal meth.

Then on May 25th, Dixon was seen passed out at the wheel of his car at the East Main Street Pilot with drugs clearly visible. Police officers arrived too see him commit traffic violations as he drove to Pleasant Valley Road where he was stopped and found with methamphetamine, two syringes, and psilocyn.

For indictments on aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine, Dixon could get up to nine years and $17,500 in fines.

In another, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on May 29th, sheriff's deputies responded to the Frankfort apartment of 30-year-old Courtney J. Groves. Her girlfriend had reported Groves had struck her in the mouth and choked her about being on her cell phone, before she fled.

Groves has three prior convictions from Highland County and Hillsboro between 2010 and 2015. For indictments on domestic violence, she could get up to three years and $10,000 in fines.
