The Adena Lady Warriors held off Huntington for a 41-35 home victory, Saturday.
After trailing 11-4 at the end of the first quarter, Adena battled back, closing the gap to just one point at halftime, 20-19. The Lady Warriors gained a five-point advantage in the third quarter, but Huntington fought back to take a 29-28 lead early in the fourth.
In the final period, Adena was clutch at the free-throw line, with three players combining to hit seven crucial foul shots to seal the win.
Huntington senior Allie Baker led all scorers with 27 points, adding multiple steals to her standout performance.
For Adena, senior Corrine Day contributed 12 points, while sophomore Marly Holcomb scored 11, and junior Jacey Smith chipped in with 10.
The Lady Warriors improve to (3-1) overall, while Huntington drops to (1-2).
