Area Broadcaster and Media Company to Help Fight Drug Overdoses

Dave Litteral and Dr. John Gabis

Chillicothe, Ross County, and Southern Ohio — The Hope Partnership Project has a new partner, in local radio and podcasting, in their mission to end drug overdoses.

Dr. John Gabis, chair of the Project, says he has been with it from the beginning. He spoke with the Ross County Commissioners on May 12th to introduce Dave Litteral, Market President for iHeart Media in Southern Ohio. Litteral manages Chillicothe, Hillsboro, Washington Court House, and Dayton radio stations – as well as podcasts and online content.

Both said iHeart is offering a unique partnership – the Hope Partnership has a message, and iHeart will help to get the message out.

Litteral says iHeart is offering consultation and “no-charge media buys” to help the Hope Partnership use their funds more efficiently. This is more than just free nonprofit ads (called public service advertisements or PSAs), but also long-form media, like podcasts. (These are also available for any nonprofit.)

They said they were coming back to the commissioners soon to create a plan, probably in two weeks. They are on the agenda for May 27th

Litteral said the best way for anyone who would like to promote nonprofits is to get ahold of him through his email or the local radio newsroom email. Gabis said you can learn about the Hope Partnership Project through its website. It is also an on Facebook and Instagram

Hear them in their own words in the video interview below, which is also in the article on the Scioto Post.
