Chillicothe High School has selected its next head football coach.
During its regular meeting on Monday, the Chillicothe City Schools Board of Education unanimously approved Carper’s appointment, which came out of a pool of more than 30 applicants. Carper fills the vacancy left by the resignation of Coach Scott Bartholomew.
“Coach Carper rose to the top of a very strong group of candidates,” said Chillicothe Athletic Director Knute Bonner. “His high energy, community-driven approach, and vision for the future of Cavaliers football make him the perfect fit. We’re thrilled to see what he can achieve here in Chillicothe.”
Carper's resume includes head coaching at Vinton County from 2021-2023 and Zaneville in 2024.
“I’m extremely thankful for this opportunity,” said Carper. “This is a great fit for my wife and our three kids, and I’m ready to pour my heart, energy, and effort into the program, the players, and the entire Chillicothe community.”
Chillicothe will open the 2025 season at Bloom Carroll on August 22nd.
