Local Art as Gift Ideas in Pump House "December Holiday Show"

The Pump House Center for the Arts is hosting their annual December Holiday Show. Kevin Coleman was at their Friday opening.

About 11 local artists fill the gallery with a wide assortment of art styles. Director of the Pump House John Payne says this show allows each artist to display more than they could in a regular show.

Payne encourages buying local art, and that he owns some himself. He recommends finding something of personal interest, and then your appreciation of it will spread. He adds that "art never goes out of style."

The gift gallery is also well-stocked.

The Holiday Show runs through the 30th. Then, the Pump House is on break until their annual February high school student art show.

The Pump House parking lot is also the location of the full-size Mighty Children's Museum skating rink, with skate rental inside the building.
