(24/7 News Source) -- The state of Ohio is updating its travel advisory list of places with a COVID-19 positivity rate of 15 percent or higher. The new list was issued August 5th with two previously listed states removed and a new one added. South Carolina and Kansas were dropped from the list, and the travel advisory currently applies to those coming from Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Mississippi, and Nevada, which was re-added. The advisory also applies to Ohioans leaving the state and traveling to Coronavirus outbreak areas.
The Ohio Health Department is reporting almost 12-hundred new daily cases of COVID-19. Officials said yesterday that there were 1,199 new cases of Coronavirus with 26 more deaths. Doctors also announced 112 additional hospitalizations, while the number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 is estimated at around 72-thousand. The overall cases of COVID-19 in Ohio since March is now above 96-thousand, with just under 36-hundred deaths.
A Franklin County Judge is denying a request for a restraining order against the emergency rule making bars stop serving alcohol at 10 p.m. Judge Kim Brown made the decision yesterday against a petition filed by the owners of several local bars and restaurants. The bar owners had asked for restraining orders against the regulation put in place by Governor Mike DeWine, the Ohio Department of Public Safety, and the Ohio Liquor Commission. Businesses involved in the lawsuit include Pins Mechanical, Late Night Slice, Oldfield's, Zeno's, and 16 Bit Bar and Arcade.
