Hillsboro Police Pursuit Leads to Felony Charge for Piketon Man

A Piketon man wanted by law enforcement on an outstanding warrant is now facing a felony charge after leading Hillsboro Police on a vehicle pursuit.

On Thursday, January 23rd, at approximately 2:05 p.m. Hillsboro Police Officers observed a male subject who was known to have a warrant for his arrest driving a vehicle in the 200 block of E. Pleasant Street.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the subject failed to comply with the order of the police officer and fled in the vehicle south on State Route 247. The pursuit continued through New Market, ending on Mad River Road when the vehicle pulled into a driveway of a residence in the 4000 block of Mad River Road. One male and one female exited the vehicle, fleeing on foot. Officers were able to quickly apprehend both subjects.

The driver was identified as Jacob Cooper, 24, of Piketon, had an outstanding warrant. In addition, Cooper is being charged with failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, a felony of the third-degree. The passenger was identified as Anna Debo, 18, of Hillsboro, and was found to also have an outstanding warrant.

Both subjects were transported to the Highland County Justice Center and are to be arraigned on Monday, January 27th in the Hillsboro Municipal Court.
