Circleville Council Hears About Ted Lewis Park

Tuesday evening, Circleville Council got a park report.

Circleville Parks Commissioner Larry Logan explained continuing on the Ted Lewis Park rebuilding...after demolition of old structures in the park, in early spring. He said fill dirt, water and electrical service, and more will need to be done before building the splash pad, playground, and bathroom / mechanical room.

Logan also listed current and future donations and grants for the park - and mentioned there is a family excited to fund a music stage...later.

Aside from other typical park athletics, he said there has been a request for a skateboard park. Logan said in two days, 969 petitioners with 448 of them from Circleville posted on Facebook in answer to the question of a skateboard park.

He recommended test-driving a durable temporary skate park, which would be loaned to the city, on one-third of the back parking lot through the coming summer.

Meet the second of two returning members in Circleville Council.

Jeff Halinin is the only other new council member this term - and like Tom Klitzka, is returning to council a few years after his previous term.

Halinin explained that in 2017 he filled out the second year of Dorcas Morrow's term. She had a conflict between her retirement and public service. He then served on the Pickaway County Board of Health before being elected by the First Ward.

He says he has two big goals on council: streets, and finances. Hear his interview below.
