Delano Road to Close at its Intersection with State Route 159 This Weekend

As part of an intersection improvement project on State Route 159 in Ross County, a temporary closure of Delano Road is scheduled this weekend.

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are widening the pavement and installing turn lanes, as well as upgrading the signal and extending a culvert, at the intersection of S.R. 159 and Delano Road, north of Chillicothe.

As part of the project, the east leg of Delano Road will be closed at its intersection with S.R. 159 for pavement reconstruction during the weekend of September 21. The closure is scheduled tentatively to be in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday, September 21, through 8 a.m. Sunday, September 22.

While the route is closed, Delano Road traffic will be detoured by way of S.R. 159, S.R. 180 and T.R. 236 (Sulphur Spring Road). Traffic on S.R. 159, however, will continue to be maintained by flaggers,

Shelly and Sands, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $1.19 million to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early fall.
