Governor Dewine Unveils Gun Restriction Plan Following Dayton Shooting

(24/7 News) -- Ohio Governor Mike DeWine says he is taking a number of actions following the mass shooting in Dayton that left nine people dead.

Today (Tuesday), DeWine said protesters demanding him to do something are "absolutely right" and he plans to ask the legislature to pass a gun safety measure.

The legislation would initiate safety protection orders, which gives family members the power to have guns taken away from those who pose a danger. DeWine also recommended allowing more access to state psychiatric hospitals within the state.
