Chillicothe Man Appointed to Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board

A Chillicothe man has been named to a governor-appointed advisory board.

Richard C. Rooney of Chillicothe has been appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to serve a term on the Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board. The term began in mid April and Rooney will hold the appointment until January 14th of 2022.

The Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board makes advisement to the State Historic Preservation Officer and the Ohio History Connection Board of Trustees on historic preservation issues. That includes an evaluation of the properties nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.

The board, comprised of architects, historians, planners, archaeologists and members of the public-at-large with expertise in Ohio's history. It's a 17-member panel that meets four times per year.
