Ross Grand Jury on Infant Abuse, Sexual Imposition

The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 21 of their cases Friday, with five open.

A sheriff's detective was called to investigate reports of abuse of an infant only weeks old, from November through February 15th, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office. The child was found to have healed and fresh fractures of the arms, chest, and legs.

28-year-old Casey B. Cutright of Mount Tabor Road was indicted for felonious assault, for hurting the infant...and for endangering children, for not assisting when he witnessed another hurting it.

He is not the biological father, but lived with the child.

He could get up to 13 years and $25,000 in fines. The case of a co-defendant is not a public case yet.

The child is no longer in their care.

According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, sheriff's deputies were called to a Rozelle Creek Road residence where 35-year-old Scott S. Cain was allegedly caught on top of a girl under 13 years of age, and admitted he "did something stupid."

After being arrested and Mirandized, he admitted to having sexual contact with the girl, which led to a third degree felony charge of gross sexual imposition...but not a charge of rape.

Cain was not a stranger to the girl. His residence is on Blain Highway.

For that indictment he could get up to five years and $10,000 in fines.
