Bolte Sets NCAA Benchmark with 65 Point Game Against Charleston

A dominant performance on the court Wednesday from a former Chillicothe High School basketball standout, now playing for Concord University.

Mountain Lions senior guard Tommy Bolte walked away with 65 points as Concord edged Charleston, 99-96 in double overtime in the Mountain East Conference. His 65-point effort sets a benchmark for college basketball as the university's team website reports that Bolte's final is the most scored since the NCAA began tracking single-game highs, with the previous mark set just two seasons ago by Shorter University's Phil Taylor.

It was a good win for Concord as the Mountain Lions have lost two double overtime matches in the past 10 days against West Liberty and Fairmont State. The Chillicothe native went 25-42 from the field and was 12-12 from the arch.  Concord trailed the entire game but was able to rally late in the fourth to send the game into a back-and-forth session of double overtime. Bolte's performance on Wednesday adds a finishing touch to his already impressive college career as he is one of only six Mountain Lions men's basketball players to be named an All-American. Prior to that, during his junior season, Bolte led the entire division in scoring, putting up totals in excess of more than 30 or 40 on multiple occasions.
