OSU Study Shows Roundabouts Limit Serious Crashes

The head of a research institute at Ohio State says roundabouts make things a bit safer for drivers. Phil Renaud is executive director of the Risk Institute.

His researchers found no deadly wrecks in the circular intersections.

He says a bigger problem is distracted driving. 70% of respondents say they can use smartphones while driving, with no problems.

Renaud says smartphones are only one part of the distracted driving problem. In-car screens are also an issue.
