US 50 Crash Lands Utility Pole on Road

In another Saturday crash on US 50 in Ross County, the Chillicothe Post of the Highway Patrol reports a single vehicle injury that dropped a pole onto the highway near Concord Church Road / milepost 32 at 9:41pm. 


21-year-old Richard E. Parsons III of Londonderry was eastbound in a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck when he drove off the right side of the roadway, struck a utility pole and and then a ditch.


Parsons was transported to Adena Hospital by Liberty Township Fire/EMS, then transferred to Grant Hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time but are believed to be non-life threatening.


His passenger, 21-year-old Thomas C. Morris of Londonderry was also transported to Adena Hospital by Liberty Township Fire/EMS for non-life threatening injuries.


The damaged utility pole fell onto the roadway causing several vehicles to become damaged by the debris.  US 50 was closed for about one-and-a-half hours to allow for clean-up and removal of vehicles.


Motorists are reminded to wear their seat belts.
