During its Friday session, 17 cases were presented to the Ross County Grand Jury.
According to Todd Bost, with the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, the following were returned as open indictments:
- Dakota L. Richards, 18, of Chillicothe, was indicted for aggravated robbery;
- Josey W. Smith, 30, of Chillicothe, was indicted for failure to comply with a police office;
- Toban J. Byrd, 18, of Chillicothe, was indicted on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of cocaine, and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
An indictment is a formal charge of a serious crime.
