ODOT Crews Getting Ready For Overnight Weather

(Eastern Avenue, Chillicothe) -- With the potential for snow and possible ice, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 will be patrolling the state and federal routes in South Central Ohio during the overnight and early morning hours.

Crews from Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties will be patrolling and treating the state highway system as needed, with the first crews reporting at 3 a.m.

Although any snow accumulation should be light and pavement temperatures are still above freezing, roadways may be wet, and there is the potential for freezing and ice could form, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Motorists are reminded to use additional caution, allowing additional travel time and maintaining a safe following or stopping distance behind other vehicles. Drivers should also pay attention to plow drivers by slowing down and giving them room to work.
