The Chillicothe Engineering Department will conduct a closure of the of High Street Flood Gate this Sunday, September 24th.
Chillicothe Mayor, Luke Fenney, announced Wednesday that the High Street Floodgate Exercise will take place between 9:00 p.m. and midnight.
The exercise will force a closure of High Street, just south of the US 35 on/off ramps, and north of Orange Street. That section of High Street will close at 8:30 p.m. and will reopen no later than midnight.
The exercise is meant to keep city personnel trained in the process of erecting the flood gates in the event of flooding.
