The pool at the Ross County YMCA will be temporarily closed for annual maintenance starting Monday.
"We have a very large pool that needs to be partially drained down each year to be cleaned," said Y CEO Steve Clever.
The pool is heated and is usually set at 83 degrees, which is in line with recommendations by the Arthritis Foundation, he added.
Clever asks community members to consider utilizing the pool once it reopens on September 7th: "It's one of the best ways to stay healthy; (it's) low impact on your joints, and we'd be glad to have you."
The Pike County YMCA pool is also temporarily closed while crews work to fix the pump; however, there is no timetable for when it should be back in use.
