A new drug program that is designed to reverse the impact of a drug overdose is now available through locally.

Rami Yoakum of the Ross County Health District says Project Dawn is an emergency first aid for suspected opioid overdose, that is administered in the form of a nasal mist spray. The drug, IF administered soon enough, will reverse the impact of the opioid overdose on the victim's brain.

Statistics Ross County is one of the top 10 counties in Ohio for drug overdose deaths.

More information about the new program is available at the health department.
