The Chillicothe Tree Commission has announced that its first tree planting project for 2014 will be late March or early April.  The site is South Hickory Street between East 7th and 8th Streets.

With wide tree lawns on the east and west sides, this street once held tall trees, most of which have been removed over the years.

The tree Commission plan calls for approximately twenty “tall trees for tall spaces” to be planted, using several varieties, including oaks, tuliptrees, Kentucky coffeetrees, yellowwood, and Moraine (seedless) sweetgums.
