The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash which occurred on State Route 32 and Coal Dock Road in Pike County, at about 8:17pm Thursday.

34-year-old Amber J. Bloss of Beaver, Ohio was driving southbound on Coal Dock Road, crossing State Route 32 in a 2001 Jeep Wrangler, when she failed to yield, colliding with a 2004 GMC Sierra driven by 43-year-old Christopher T. Turner of Oak Hill.

Bloss' vehicle slid off the left side of the roadway and over turned onto its left side. Turner's vehicle came to rest on State Route 32.

An 11-year-old female from Mrs. Bloss vehicle was pronounced dead at Pike Community Hospital. An 8-year-old male and 12-year-old female from Mrs. Bloss vehicle were transported by Air Evac Helicopter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

The fatality victim and another rear-passenger were not wearing seat belts, according to the patrol.

Bloss was transported to Pike Community Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Turner refused treatment at the scene by Pike County EMS, but later transported by family to Holzer hospital in Jackson, Ohio.
